Greeneville Water Commission's contractor, Portland Utilities, will begin some exploratory digging on Irish Street, between Depot Street and Church Street, to identify water and sewer connections to existing lines. This process will take place tomorrow (Thursday, 12.2) and possibly Friday (12.3). Additional exploratory digging in the same area might need to occur next week as well but we will update everyone as things progress. This work will not affect any water service to facilities in the area as it will only involve looking and locating for future work.
So, along with the current closure on Depot Street, Irish Street between Depot Street and Church Street will be closed to through traffic tomorrow and possibly Friday. See map below:
The Federal Courthouse will still have access if needed but the general public will need to detour around the construction.
