Back to Depot block party
With West Depot Street sidewalks and street surface nearing completion, organizations are beginning to plan events on the Festival Block from Main Street to Irish Street.
The Town of Greeneville hosted a Back to Depot Block Party and Grand Opening of this block on Saturday, August 19th. You can check out the great pictures from the event on Facebook.
There were several events throughout the day with a “Back to the Future” theme. Many Depot Street businesses stayed open late for shopping, food and drink, and special discounts. There was a screening of the movie at the Capitol Theatre in the afternoon with a costume contest, and in the evening, they had 50s-80s decades dance music from DJ Robbie Britton, carnival-style food vendors, special art presentations, and kids' activities.
Main Street: Greeneville hosted its Barrel & Leaf Event at the Nickle Ridge Winery, and the Greene County Partnership helped kick off the block's opening! The Greeneville Noon Rotary Club had a special unveiling on the street, and there were speeches and updates on the history and the future of Depot and Downtown Greeneville!
We're so glad so much of the community came out to celebrate with us!
